This won't be a long post, but I just had to share this.
Michelle and the kids went to see the dentist today - so they could get registered and all that jazz. (Under the NHS system, doctors are free, and dentists are free for kids, but adults have to pay - although the fee is nominal.) Anyway, basically, they went in for a quick inspection and to register with the dentist so that they can go see him in the future for cleanings and the like.
Now, while I really mean no disrepect to the British, as Americans, we all know the comments about British teeth, such that honestly, "British dentist" seems like an oxymoron. So here's the down low on British dentistry. Michelle said that she felt like she was stepping into a time warp and was visiting a dentist from several years back. But here's the part that really made me laugh. She said that he looked at Dalton's teeth and made several comments about how nice his teeth were, and then looked at Maggie's teeth and made comments about how nice her teeth were, and then looked at Michelle's teeth and made comments about how nice her teeth (and crowns) were, and how she must floss, and how the English could learn from us. Then he said, and I quote, "It must be true what they say about American teeth."
That's all - I just thought it was funny.
