Had I written this post before last week, the title would read much differently, with a much different descriptive word that would have been shocking to most of you.
Grocery shopping has been an adventure of its own. Being faced with aisles and aisles of things that are not familiar to you and the things that are familiar, different name brands. Making choices that need time to be thought about, but not having the time to think about it. Every visit being as crowded as grocery shopping at Walmart on a Saturday afternoon. Being stared at by the cashier and the people in line behind you while you try to bag your groceries as quickly as possible, while your kids act like they have never been in public before. And getting to and from the grocery store too. Either bumming a lift off the neighbor and having to work on her time schedule; or hauling the family on the bus and then back again with the little 2 wheeled cart full of groceries you are hoping will get you through the week, again hoping to make the bus schedule.
Then came Tesco.com. Now I can sit in the convenience of my own home, on my own time and order my groceries. I can look at my grocery cart and see how much I've spent or add something up until the night before delivery if I forgot something. AND if I see a recipe on the website that looks good, with one click I can add all the needed ingredients to my grocery cart. And here's the best part....while spending time with the family at home, the kids playing nicely together on the living room floor and J. and I looking at a book, all we have to do is wait on the knock at the door from the Tesco man with our groceries. All this for a delivery fee that is less than us riding the bus. Needlessly to say, this will probably be one of the major things I miss when we come home.

You have no idea how glad I am to hear that you found something like that to make things easier on you guys. So have you used that recipe feature to make any new and interesting English dishes for the family to sample?
Yeah! I was hoping that Tesco would be a good thing in your life!
Wow! I could not be more jealous, Michelle--what a treat! As far as recipes they suggest, will you pass on your favorites?
I will pass on favorite recipes. I haven't tried any yet, but plan to on next week's visit. I was playing around a little with it this week, but I had already made my menu and my grocery cart was full. :)
