Maggie's First Day of School

After eight hours of bouncing off the walls on Monday when we found out the school had a space for Maggie, she bounced into our bed at 6:45 yesterday morning, fully dressed in her school uniform, announcing that she was ready for school. She then proceeded to be a chatterbox until 8:35, when it was time to walk to school. She then hopped, skipped and floated all the way to school, where she was greeted by two little girls that she knows. At that point, I'm not sure who was more excited, her or them. They grabbed her by the hand and took off, introducing her to everyone they knew. The bell rang and she came and gave me a hug and went in without any hesitation.

Upon getting out of school, she informed me that she had had so much fun. It wasn't hard and she even knew something that no one else knew (counting by tens). She announced that she had gotten two stickers for the day, one for being good and one for being good all day. And above all, all the girls wanted to play with her at playtime.

And, if you are wondering how Mommy did, I felt a little lost yesterday and the house was insanely quiet. Good thing is I think I might can get used to it. But it happened with good timing. I was wondering how I was going to manage homeschooling her and try to get things ready to move back to the States in April. I think it will also help her settle into school better when we get back.

I don't think you'll ever have to worry about Maggie having good self esteem! She looks like she has the world under control!
