The following day after breakfast, we once again set out in our car, this time for the Isle of Skye. It ended up being a longer drive than I had anticipated, partly due to the fact that there are very few roads in Scotland where you can actually drive 60 mph. Most of the time during our entire trip we were going somewhere between 40 and 50. Not that I minded that much, since it gave us a chance to see more of the scenery.
On our drive to the island, we made one of our stops to look at the scenery, when a fighter jet flew over. Apparently, he was on a training run, because he came back around a couple of times, and we actually managed to get a photo or two. We then drove to the island, up to the Talisker distillery, where Dalton and I took a tour - I had planned on the whole family going, but they wouldn't allow children under 8, so Mich stayed outside with Maggie while Dalton and I took the tour. It was fairly interesting, and I learned a few things that I didn't know before.
Afterwards, we made our way to the little town of Portree, which is supposed to be the most lively town of the island. If that's so, I truly fear for the social lives of the other islanders, because there didn't seem to be much going on in Portree. We went down by the docks to see what was there and discovered exactly how deceptive some travel photography can be. That was about it for the day.
