Under the Sea

The week itself has been fairly slow. Dalton went to the doctor on Monday, only for us to discover that he had croup, an ear infection, and swollen tonsils. He spent most of the week (through Thursday) at home, recuperating, which meant that Mich had both the kids at home until Friday. He did return to school on Friday, though, and that night Mich & I went to a quiz night at Merstham Primary.

The quiz night was sponsored by the school PTA, and consisted of fish and chips and several rounds of trivia. Each table was a team which then tried to answer the questions. Suffice it to say, that was one of those experiences to make you realise just how different British and American culture are. Mich & I had fun, but I'm not sure that we contributed much to the team other than moral support. I guess we did actually get a few answers right - but not knowing anything about British sport and knowing a minimal amount about British history put us at a distinct disadvantage. A sample question: How much does Trafalgar Square cost in Monopoly?

Saturday, we met some friends in London to go to the London Aquarium. That was pretty cool. I'm going to try to post my first blog video of the large tank, where they had several sharks, rays, and other fish. I'll see about posting a few other pictures as well - using our new camera. I'm curious to see if there will be a noticeable difference when the pictures get posted on the blog. I think a few of the jellyfish photos came out reasonably well. There was also a "petting pool" where you could pet the rays as they swam around in the water. When we came out, there was a beautiful skyline back behind Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. So, then it was back home, for dinner and bed.

Looks like to camera is working amazingly well. You were able to get some great shots. I enjoyed the video.
