Star Wars!

I purposely saved this for another post, as it is worth its own post, as well as its own set of pictures. Previously, I failed to mention that on Saturday, as we were wandering the banks of the River Thames, we came across six Stormtroopers, who appeared to be guarding something. This was the external setting of the Star Wars Exhibition, which Dalton and I returned to on Sunday.

The Exhibition is interesting, although a bit overpriced for what you get. Dalton had a great time though, as he had his picture taken with R2-D2 and C3PO, as well as taking part in a green screen show - basically, he and another guy are performing Jedi training in front of clips from the Star Wars movies. I was wishing that they would have put him into a specific movie scene, but you can't have everything, I suppose. There are also life size models of Anakin's pod racer, as well as Sebulba's pod racer, a Gungan fighter ship, and the bounty hunter's ship from the beginning of Episode II. There are several smaller scale models, as well as mannequins wearing some of the Star Wars costumes, which are interesting, but these are behind glass, and all you can do is look. These included Darth Vader (of course), as well as Boba and Jango Fett, a couple of Princess Leia costumes, the Lando Calrissian costume from his stint as a guard at Jabba the Hutt's palace, and Darth Maul's outfit. Throughout the exhibit they also had pictures and drawings showing how the different characters developed over time. There was also a kind of "making of" type movie, although Dalton was hardly interested in this at all, so I didn't gain any particular insight in the few minutes I was allowed to watch, other than the fact that Yoda was no longer a puppet in the last installments of the films. In addition to the previous photos and Jedi training, Dalton also got to go to Jedi School, where he fought off Darth Vader and the Emperor. That more or less wrapped up our day, and we headed home after he thwarted the attempts of the Empire to destroy the Jedi.

Jackson and Sullivan can't believe all you got to do Dalton! How great is that? I read the blog to them and they kept saying "Awww Man!" Glad you got to have such a wonderful Sunday!

From Benjamin, to Dalton:
One day I'm going to go to England. I'm going to bring my light saber (sp?) and play with you. One day when you come back I'm going to make you a batch of cookies, so make sure you come home safely. That's all I wanted to say. Oh, and I'm going to visit you so we can all go to the Star Wars place so we can fight together! That's it.
